Northern Illinois
University's
student chapter is a group of students who are looking to continue their learning
outside the classroom.
The group generates several topics throughout the semester
that are interesting
in the Operations
Management field and seek people who
are able to give a presentation
on the
topics. We also contact local facilities
and ask to be given a tour of their
facility. This way we can learn about the different trends that are
happening out
in the work place. Also,
so that we can compare what companies
are doing to try
and give them a
competitive advantage.
In the spring of 2006 we started
holding study sessions throughout the semester so that students can complete the
first module of the CPIM certification. This is a nationally known certification
that allows our students an advantage against other students while seeking a job
upon graduation. If you would like to learn more about the certification, click

Every February APICS holds what
is called a case competition. We have been involved in the competition since 2005
and took first place that year. In 2006, only our second year competing we were
able to place second. Please click on the link labeled competitions on the left
of your screen to learn more about it
